Waterbird Entertainment provides a personalized DJ and Emcee service, tailored to the needs of our clients. We guide them through the planning process, honor their requests, and exceed their expectations during their event. Our DJs and Emcees perform at weddings, corporate functions, anniversaries, school dances and birthdays and more. (Weddings are our specialty). Customer satisfaction is our number one goal.
DUTIES SUMMARY / DJ / Karaoke Host: The person that fills this position would be responsible for carrying out all relevant tasks to ensure or exceed his or her clients' expectations at the celebration. Examples may include: accommodating musical requests, formalities, and understanding the needs and wants of the client as the acting master of ceremonies. Primary duties at the event include: Setting up all necessary sound and lighting equipment, playing appropriate music that relates to the crowd, facilitating all necessary announcements by microphone, and coordinating events. Ability to sing and perform in front of an audience is required for Karaoke Hosts.
DUTIES SUMMARY / EMCEEE / Karaoke Host: The Emcee or Karaoke Host has the responsibility to maintain a smooth pace and high level of energy during an event, as well as keep your guests entertained. Waterbird Entertainment offers polished, professional and charismatic Emcees and Karaoke Hosts. Our Emcees and Hosts must have over 5 years experience with verifiable references. We pride ourselves on knowing that our entertainers have created reputations for themselves over the years, with their individual energy, looks, and distinguished style of delivery and overall presentation.
DUTIES SUMMARY / Lighting Technician: A firm knowledge of lighting, stage rigging and AV equipment is required. Ensure that all lighting requirements listed in Performance Details Form (including Technical Riders and design) for each event are met. Operation of specialized, lighting, electrical and rigging equipment as needed. Work closely with clients to meet their presentation objectives and budget expectations.
QUALIFICATION SUMMARY / DJ / Karaoke Host: Must have 5 years experience either as mobile disc jockey, emcee, karaoke host, or experience performing in front of an audience. Must have the ability to read a crowd and improvise accordingly. Some troubleshooting and operating knowledge of professional sound equipment is required. Familiarity and knowledge with vast musical styles and keeping up with current billboard hits is a must.
Must be available on weekends, especially Saturdays. Must have current California and/or Arizona drivers license and clean driving record to operate company vehicles. Must be honest, personable, outgoing, energetic, responsible, and dedicated.
HIRING PROCESS / DJ / Karaoke Host: Approved candidates will receive onsite and in office training during an evaluation period. This process will then determine employment.
HIRING PROCESS / Technician: Approved candidates go through standard interview process. Candidates must provide resume, references, and agree to background check.
PAY: Pay is varied, based on the type of event booked and experience/talent. Setup Technician position is also available.
